Brake lights don't work with headlights on
My brake lights don't work when the headlights are on. I had 2 corroded bulb sockets. Replaced those with new units from oreilly but they had 3 wires. Same thing; brake lights would turn off when the headlights are on. Swapped back to the corroded units thinking it had something to do with the 3rd wire, but same behavior.
I've done a few searches but no definitive answers. Some say its the brake switch, some say its the turn lever or wiring in the column itself.

Re: Brake lights don't work with headlights on
Started looking through more threads and bought a new brake switch. Turns out the connections were completely differernt and had to return it. No one in town stocks them. BUT when I drove to the shop without a switch in, the brake lights weren't working at all. Installed the old switch, brake lights work. Again, only with the headlights off.
Found a thread that mentioned the turn signal lever could be faulty. But wasn't identical to my problem. Another thread a dude a very similar problem and he was pointed to the hatch ground strap not being good. Where is that ground located? A pic would be most helpful. Injuneer? Anyone?
