A/C Compresser Clucth making Noise ?
ok my a/c compresser is making a bad noise the clucth bearings must be gone . the a/c dont work so i dont care about that but now its the noise my car sound like a pos i can wigle the pully up and down and it dont matter if the clucth is engaged or disengaged it still sounds bad.
so, my question is can i just replace the clucth or pully bearings or something its bad , i dont wanna get a new compresser . WHAT SHOULD I DO ? can i replace the bearings , clucth , ? also how hard is it to remove the compresser ?
aLSO something to laugh to i taught it was my alternator bearings so i just replaced it and lol i find out it wasnt o well it was a 10 year old alt . i dont wanna take it off and put the old one back one lol.

Advise about replacing clutch and bearings...I dont have any for you.I would think its possible but it would take someone who does everyday to get it right.
But as far as removing the compressor I just did that this weekend it took about 1 1/2 hours. But that was removing lines and condensor, that canister thing and its holder also. The pump removal was pretty straight forward. Undo belt,Remove tensioner, disconnect lines from back of comp, remove 3 bolts on front of comp. and a 10mm on a bracket on rear of pump that one was disturbing and tight. No room for ratchet or breaker just an open-end.Then you just manipulate it forward and down thru the starter wires and PS lines.PLOP
BTW you can have first dibs on the pump/compressor(make offer),worked fine.Or I'm putting it on Ebay tonite or tomorrow.I have the whole AC system. But the evaperator is next weekend when I remove the whole HVAC module...evap. is in there.

Might look for the AC delete pulley setup, probably cheaper than getting the bearing replaced in your clutch. The guys that put LT1s in trucks use them sometimes to keep from notching the frame. AC delete pulley. 16188051
