Its actually unvented. Unvented 93-94, Vented 95-97

Check Shoebox's webpage for Dal's number or Jason Cromer's number. Its probably going to cost less from Dal since he's closer Akron, OH, than Jason in Florida.

shoebox's site: http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech1.html

Has a lot of good stuff on there. Helped me more than once.

I still say change the plugs first. Don't even start thinking about buying an opti until you change the plugs.

Re: camaro newbie

Yea, do plugs and wires first. Thats what I did before I gave up and found it was my opti.

Have someone local look at it, I know I've seen lots of Chicago guys on the boards. It's SpeedInc around there too?

The nice thing about misses, is you can always fix them yourself. Wires and ignition coil would be my next step.

For God's sake dont go back to "My Mechanic" cause "My Mechanic" is really trying to bend you over, dropped soap prison style.

Seriously contact a LT1 guy locally and have him help diagnose the problem, if not your just going to **** you money away.

Re: camaro newbie

A coil wire came in my MSD LT1 plug wire kit. So it should be included.

Yep, my Moroso wires came with it as well. It comes with all the kits.

And it's the easiest wire to plug.

Re: camaro newbie

yep ur right. i got nine wires when i bought my set. i just hope this fixes my missfiring problem. although it did get much better when i did my plugs, i learned my plugs had never been replaced even though he said he did them, they were 20000ths of an inch too big. after my new plugs my car stopped shaking when idling but still missfires. my money is on the optispark

The 20 thousands of an inch means it was running a little colder than it should have.

Also, were there 9 wires? Or 8 wires with a plug looking coil?

I think I might add this to my diagnoses page I'm working on.

Yeah the extremely short (and un-numbered) 9th wire is the coil wire.

Ok, just making sure since the package for the van had an extra spare wire.
