car bogs out when driving...
not sure if this is the right forum, but here goes my problem...
put in a new 383 LT1 in the past week, and started the car up for the first time last night. It ran for about 30 seconds and then i shut it off. Went out and started it again today to take it for a drive and the SES light came on and the code was P0122 (throttle position sensor low input), so i took the TPS off and checked it out, and it was broken (just spun 360 degrees with no spring load), so i got a new TPS and put it on. Car fired up, but only with a little help from my foot on the gas pedal. After i gave it gas for about 5 seconds, it stayed running and seemed to idle consistantly around 800rpms. Then i decided to take it for a run around the block, and backing outta the driveway, it bogged out when i had it in neutral waiting to back out. Started it back up and took it out on the street, but it almost bogged out every time between shifts, and i had to keep my foot on the gas to keep it running and eventually got it back to the garage where it sits now.
from what ive read on here, it seems like i just need to open up the holes on the TPS and tilt it forward a little and torque it into place, but can anyone confirm this, and is there an easy way to test it somehow before i go drilling anything?
