Clutch Going?

Clutch Going?
When I got in the car to go to work this morning. I couldn't get into reverse, the shifter just wouldn't go. So I pump the clutch to align the gears. That's when I noticed the clutch pedal was stuck on the floor boards. This has happened once before. With some playing, then pulling it up with my foot, it was okay. But the pedal feels real light. I also think the clutch is disengaging earlier than I remember. But this is considering the entire life of the car. The clutch itself seems to be working fine. No slipping that I can tell. But the force to push in the clutch pedal seems awfully light
Perhaps it's a slave cylinder or simply a return spring. But if anyone has experienced this or knows what this means please let me know.
Thanks in advance

Re: Clutch Going?
Just thought I would try and cash in on some of your solutions that you get...I'm having the exact same problem!! But I don't know what is exactly wrong with it. I topped up the fluid a couple days ago and seemed to be fine. Then got in the car this morning for work (a little on the cooler side temp wise this morning...) and it just didn't wanna shift gears AT ALL! The pedal stuck to the floor. I sat in the driveway with about a 2000RPM idle to try and warm things up and then it seemed to work good enough to make it to work. Its been doing this for a while now. Any help for me and Mister Will would be great!! Thanx guys!

Re: Clutch Going?
Just over 71K. I had the car in yesterday to flush and replace the hydraulic fluid. It feels better and the mechanics didn't think there was a serious problem. They checked for leaks but didn't find any. The pedal feels a little firmer than when I first initiated this thread. Clutch seems to be working fine, no slipping that I noticed.

Re: Clutch Going?
slave or master cylinder might be leaking. Check your fluid levels. If that's still ok, I'd say something in the master's piston broke. I would think that you would have loss of fluid in this case though. Other wise like the guy said, check the through out bearing. also trash in the hydrolic system could cause this trouble too. that would require flushing it out.

Re: Clutch Going?
Even though our clutches are hydraulic; there is still a clutch return spring. Part# 10278874 TSP# 02-07-31-001. Mine is broken, everytime I press then let go of clutch it goes *click*. I've been meaning to ask if there would be some type of problem in the future associated with not having the return spring there. When I removed my knee bolster to do some mods I saw this spring fall off and im like WTF?? and i look and look and look and i couldnt find where it went. Then when the weather started getting cold (a week later) I noticed the clutch pedal clicking. It does it mostly when the temp is cold enough.
