Convertible trunk hinge

Convertible trunk hinge
On my '00 SS the passenger side trunk hinge appears to be damaged. the front rivet on the lid side that holds one of the two levers that lift the trunk lid is loose. I think there should be a plastic piece around the rivet, which probably has worn out. Has anyone had this problem and did you try to fix it or did you buy a replacement?
The rivet on the right is the problem one
Hinge with play vs hinge without
Looks like there is some sort of plastic collar around the rivet that does not have play.
Please excuse the dust. The front hinge is actually scraping the fiberglass on the underside of the trunk lid a bit. Good hinge = left, bad hinge = right.
try to find a new/used hinge?

Re: Convertible trunk hinge
The parts manual lists the hinges as a unit and it doesn't breakdown the assembly into individual pieces for repairing it. To get parts to repair, it looks like you would have to buy a used hinge and if you where to do that, seems like it would be just as easy to replace with the used hinge instead of repairing the old. And for the record, convertibles from 1994 through 2002 used the same hinges.
