Re: corvette heads up display
I believe HUD was an optional features for 1999 Corvette coupe and convertible models. Since then, HUD is standard for Z06 models.
The display contents are: RPM, Speedo, and oil pressure.

Re: corvette heads up display
I thought a person or two on this site fabbed up HUD for their F-bodies. They also had to put something on the windshield so the display would reflect right too. From what I remember it was a ton of work, but overall they were very pleased with the outcome. I don't even remember if the HUD was from a Vette or something else like a Grand Prix or Bonneville but the Vette seems the most logical choice.

None of those can be retro-fitted into 4th gen dashboards without some major reconstruction of the firewall and dash. I've looked into it, and the units are just too large and deep to be reasonably retrofit into our cars. The aftermarket units (there are 2 companies making them AFAIK) could be very easieally installed.

One is Defi with the VSD systems; the other I'm not sure of the company name, but the unit name was the "Holosport". The Defi units were running from $100-$200; the last pricing on the Holo was ~ $500.
