Delco PF1218 filters

Noticed my new PF1218 filter is about 1 inch shorter than the one I took off. Did GM change the size on this recently or are there 2 versions for the same part number? I rather like the larger capacity filter.

GM changed the size of them about 6mos. ago, I liked the larger one as well
so I bought the last 6 big ones we had at work.
