You can't expect every parts store monkey behind the counter to know what you're talking about. They're making minimum wage.... It pays to do the research yourself and make sure you're getting the part you need before you walk out the door. This will save on repeat trips back to get the right parts.

I think I could do a decent job behind the counter of a parts store, but honestly, I don't think I could remember what EVERY part looks like for EVERY different car out on the market.

 

to my knowledge our store always reads codes no matter what year i'm usally the one who has to go out and do it but cali did past a law and a few other states that said it is wrong for us to go out there and pull codes.so if i do it it would be on my break;

to the other question wyotech is cool it's just some teachers our new and don't understand the system because they never went to school but they could build a motor with there eyes closed. as they say some of the best mech could never past a simple test give them a wrench and there unstoppable. just like sai some angles people are unaware of.

 

oh and to the statement above your right, do you know how many different cars i deal with a day i could never cover all the different kinds of cars and were i work the only sport cars i see are porshe,benz and a bunch of rice. i laugh everytime i see a 70,000 dollar car pull in and ask for anything besides wax or air frag .

also if you building a high performance race car/street car don't come to autozone.

For those parts there gonna fail, just factory replacement and slight mods well have and thats mostly for the import market not really for domestic and ext mods we got you covered. i have a fat discount and all you see on my list is guages and wax, plugs, not even wires and kandn filter cleaner.
