Dont buy from GM Parts Direct

I ordered an LS1 Tailight from them 7 days ago, they still cant even provide a tracking number. This is BS, a dealer would have that tailight within 3 days. I think they take orders, and wait to buy from GM in bulk. I dont think they are connected with GM at all! Whats your experience?

They take their time shipping, but they usually have good prices.

They definetely take their time to ship, but I've always gotten everything I've ordered.

The way I've figured it is that GMPD is just a dealer selling parts on the net.

Yes, they're just a dealer (Flow Chevrolet, LLC) but a large one at that. I've ordered many, many times, and some parts have been on backorder for a bit, while others have shipped the next day. I have no complaints. I just checked their website and it seems as though it's down, and according to Google's cache, the last time it's been visited (by Google) is on the 12th. So they might be having problems with their servers. I wouldn't jump to conclusions until you're certain there is a problem.

They took the order 7 days ago, there website wasnt down then, how does that prevent them from ordering from GM, and shipping? They dont tell you they are a Chevy Dealer when you order parts, there claim to fame is they are GM Parts Direct, any GM Part, anytime, i dont know of any Chevy dealers, that stock Pontiac body parts. Maybe there url should be Chevy Parts Direct?

7 days is nothing, I've waited over a month to get a part from FTPP.net.

From what Ive gathered they have everything and the parts are cheap but in the end they make thier money back with crazy shipping prices. Not worth it to order from them imho. Id rather pay the extra money and get the stuff on time.

Tell you the truth, I would be more surprised if someone came on this board and made a post saying they were happy with the service received from GM Parts Direct.

it sucks, but if you would have spent 30 seconds and done a search, you would see its pretty much par for the course. Should have just called up Dal.

Re: Dont buy from GM Parts Direct

Yep, the shipping prices are outragous. Especially if you order several parts at once...you pay crazy shipping prices for each part..then they are all shipped together for the cost they charged for a single part...

ALWAYS USE THE VENDORS on this site and those recommended on Shoebox's site http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech2.html#Dal_and_Jason
