door vapor seal- is it needed?
hi, and thanks in advance for your help.
i have a 1996 firebird. someone in the past removed the door vapor seal.(the plastic behind the door panel.) it has been missing for a long time. how important do you guys think it is? also is there a decent way to replace it if needed?
i was thinking of just some 10 mill visqueen and some adhesive, or should i try to find the oem, or just forget about it? also open to other ideas.
thanks again for your thoughts

It's just a clear plastic. I would use something from Home Depot or Walmart in a heavy weight type. It's originally stuck on with a putty-like substance but use any method that works.

I guess that depends on how good the rubber window seals are. Some water will get inside anyway. It's cheap to do, so why not keep the water off the inside panel? You don't want things growing in the cardboard and insulation materials.
