Driver Door window goes down but quits going up
Same as title says. Window goes down but when I put it up it quits when it is about 3/4 the way up. The switch becomes unresponsive and I wind up unplugging the switch and replugging it to mess around and try to get it to go up. The passenger window continues to operate fine whether I use the driver or passenger side controls when I have this problem. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Re: Driver Door window goes down but quits going up
The window motors have internal circuit breakers that will trip and then reset after waiting a while. Eventuality they fail permanently. Try cleaning and re-greasing the window guide tracks to minimize friction if the window seems much slower than normal. The motor uses more current lifting the window than dropping it, so this is more likely to occur going up.

Pretty classic symptom of a tired window motor. As GaryDoug mentions, mechanical friction can be a factor in tiring it out.

Thanks for the help shoebox. It was challenging finding all three rivets to drill out but some other googling showed a driver door with the rivets circled. Problem solved!
