Driver seat foward & rear tilt not working
Has anyone ever had this?
I'm driving a 97 Camaro convertible right now with 4 way manual seats (forward, backward, tilt front of seat up, tilt front of seat down) and it only moves backwards and fowards....the ability to tilt the seat isn't working.
I've tried to look underneath the seat, and it looks like the tilt lever is connected to a small metal wire (think throttle body linkage type wire) that is then connected to something on the left side of bottom of the seat (closest to the driver side door). Other than that, I am stumped.
Anyone ever try to fix the tilt of their seat?

Yeah they are manual seats, but I took the entire driver's seat out of the car (sure is easy to do that with a convertible with the top down), and the manual lever itself seems to be working fine...I have a feeling that the sliding units themselves are just stuck and hopefully some WD-40 will cure that.

OMFG this thing is a trip: took the seat bracket out to get a better look around and I just can't figure out what is up with these things! I even have the GM shop manual for 1997 F-bodies and even that doesn't go into any detail whatsoever about the tilt mechanism,

I give up...I bolted the bracket into the car without the seat attached, and then tried lifting the lever and pulling as hard as I could but no luck. If this car wasn't trying to be sold, I'd go junkyard hunting.
