exhaust smoke after cat removal

Just wondering if this was normal? It smokes at WOT and while letting off. I didn't notice this till I took off the cats. Another thing, I had some bad gas so it had a bad ping so I put a bottle of 104+ octane boost in it, well my wife took it to town later and put one more bottle in because she didn't know I had put a bottle in. So I had about 3/4 of a tank of gas and two bottles of 104+. I have enough octane booster for 50 gallons and have it in 10 gallons. Would that make it smoke

Have you been using some oil between changes? If you have it's probably been burning it but the cats eat the smoke before it comes out the tailpipe.
The 104 sholdn't make it smoke and 2 bottles won't do much. It really doesn't raise the octane that much.

I just got the car about a week ago so I don't know if it uses any oil. I hope not because it only has 50k on it. The reason i was wondering about the octane boost was because I once put too much in my Yamaha V-Max and it made it smoke. I noticed that the octane feels like it has some kind of oil in it. another thing is that the smoke doesn't smell like oil, it smells like gas like it's running very rich.

I've heard some LSx motors eat oil (not indicating a problem with the engine or anything). If it smokes blue smoke all the time then that is bad. If its only at WOT and black smoke its normal as all engines go rich at WOT and sometimes at shut down it'll only start to lean out. Where you following your car or can you notice it while you are driving?

I can't ever see it while driving. I gave it hell and let off of it while i was driving and couldn't see anything but when I had my buddy take it out he mashed it and it didn't really smoke at all when he had it hammered but when he let off I could see some smoke when he was pullung back in the driveway. It's not a smoke screen but I noticed it.

mine smokes a smalll amount like what you've described. i'm pretty sure thats all normal. smoke just makes its way out easier with a less restrictive exhaust. ever seen a car that dumps at the headers?

Yeah you need to take a look at the PCV system. A new PCV valve might be enough. I bought a catch can 2 years ago and haven't put it on yet because I changed to the LS6 valley pan and PCV system and put a new valve in.
