Recently my car's fan(s) behind the radiator come on alot, and they never used too, and when i shut my car off, the fan still stays running for a little while afterwards, even with my key removed... It never used to do this before and i have had the car for 2 years. It almost seems like its a sensor problem or something like that? My service engine light has not come on either. Any ideas, its kind of weird that it happens.

 

How long do the fans stay on afterwards...say 5 seconds or so? I think that's normal b/c mine does the same if the fans were running when I turn off the ignition...but I think it's just winding down, not necessarily running.

 

If the fans are staying on for minutes after you shut the car off the PCM might be seeing an overheat condition. On LS1's they'll stay on for 3 or 4 minutes with car car off if it sees 284* with the stock tune.
