firebird/ta headlight prob

when i go to turn the lights off and the driver side headlight flips down the motor keeps going after the light is all the way down. the only way if been able to stop it is to unplug the wiring harness. anyone know whats up with it? i did a quick search but im not sure if its the gear, motor, or some other part?

Free headlight fix at the bottom, its very easy and worked for me. My motor did the exact same thing you are describing, did the free fix and now it work flawlessly. Good luck, new motors are not cheap either, over 100 bucks I think.

Mine did the same thing. I ended up doing the free fix thingy, but that is only a bandaid. I think mine might have lasted 6 more months after turning the gear.

You might check out the brass gear that Brent sells.

You can do the free fix, but like what has been said, it will eventually happen again. I ordered up some of Brent's brass gears, and I couldn't be happier with the results. The best part is my friend with a '98 Formula gets pissed off every time I turn on/off my headlights, simply because they work so freakin' well !

Hey, I hear that Brent guy is a pretty good dude

Thanks guys! I've got a TON more info for you firebird guys too on these darn headlights and their problems. I think I have figured out 99% of the most common problems with these lights. I've written an article about it and will post it on my headlight page here soon.
