Gas Gauge

Ok ive never noticed before but when you have a full tank of gas and turn your car off does the gas gauge read empty? Or does it still read the amount of gas you have when your car is off?

Ive never thought about it till my gas gauge stopped working So I am wonder if its normal for it to read empty when you turn the car off.

My car is an 02 z28

Joel

Re: Gas Gauge

no mine stays where it's at
my rs tends to drop to 3/4 even if you have a full tank but...that's just because it's the rs

Re: Gas Gauge

Mine reads empty - the only gauge that holds it's setting is oil pressure.

Re: Gas Gauge

Mine holds it's setting- it tends to drop a little bit. I'm pretty sure coolant temp stays where it's at or drops a little, along with oil pressure.

Re: Gas Gauge

you know what?
your guys gauges are different than mine and greendemon's
you guys have the new style gauges that run differently than our 93-96
that might be why yours does that

Re: Gas Gauge

mines a 97

when i turn it off my all my gauges stay where they were...and when i start her up again they go back to correct reading

my gas one though slowly goes down a little bit but stops (maybe moves 1/8th)

on another note..my gas gauge is screwed up...when i'm at the half tank point...i only have 10 litres left ahaha..any way to fix this?
