American Racing send me the "Traglastgutachten" (technical Papers from the USA). With this papers i think (i hope) i become it street legal in germany.

E: The People from American Racing means, that i become in the next 2 weeks the papers. Then i must order the rims. he dealer means, that it will be 3 weeks. Thats 5 weeks, but 8 weeks i take for secure. 3 weeks run fast away.
Ill post 100% the new pics when i have my rims!
Where you guys life?

That sucks you have to wait eight weeks for the rims. We don't need any papers to put rims on here. How much did it cost you to get the car over there? I would think it'd be expensive.

Where in Germany are you? Couldn't figure it out exactly on your license plate. But it appears you are north? You want to save some $$ w/ your rims? Contact me. I'll send you a PM in a second.

Viel Spaß beim Deutsch studieren.
A german seller will get for me the rims and send it then to me. I pay in germany here with shipping 1320Eur for the 4 rims incl. center caps and lug nuts.
The gas in germany is very mutch, but i love my camaro, so i drive it.
And yes, its hard to bring papers for any stuff for my car. Nothing i can put on it without the TÜV or DEKRA
But its not so hard like it sounds.

Yes, all export-versions of the camaros have different mirrors. They are bigger then the US-versions.
Here in germany we have a lot of US-car-fanatics. A lot of people ask us, why we drive US-cars and not BMW or Mercedes. I thinks the answere is very simple. All the people on this planet find an other people who like special things.
I like old musik and the style of hot rodding in US-50´ and 60´ years. All the girls in pettycout (i hope its correctly written) and then te musclecar-time aroung the 70´s.
But i dont love anytime the old things The things is thats the people are anytme interest on things, they dont have.
The germans miss the more relax options to install parts on cars and the americans want the autobahn.
But one thing no country can be better: Its the true american history and the sound of the amazing V8-Cars and thats it!
Today, where Toyota VW and all the mainstream stuff float the countrys, in this moment i remember: "Oh, i have only one life..."
And so a couple of crazy people drive with is big shaking cars around germany and feel all the time "No thing can be better.."

Apologies for jumping in
I think the axle rating is for the gross vehicle weight (like the trucks).
The reason we can bolt up just about anything that will fit is that the manufacturers must meet all sorts of government-mandated requirements for automotive parts (original equipment as well as aftermarket). To the consumer, it's seamless.
Even if the wheels met all standards, there will always be one strudel-brained idiot who abuses or misuses the wheel and hurts himself (or worse - somebody else) and then sues the manufacturer (example: Firestone tires on SUVs).
Best wishes to you, our German friend.

Ah, this is very interesting. The manufacture must meet the sorts. Now i understand how all he car-tuning things work in the USA.
In germany its absolutely other way.
Every Car has papers (like my sample). You can see, that all stuff about the car is written in it.
Now you have your car and your papers.
The normal way is, that every car-part (near all, but not all) you can by in germany, have an "ABE" (Allgemeine Betriebserlaubnis). This papers says, that the part you have, is check by the "TÜV" (Technical Gouvernment) and it fits for your car. The safety rules in germany are very high. Thats enougth. You have the ABE and thats it, no more problems. Its enougth to have this "ABE" (its a pice of paper, not big) in your car.
The problems beginns, when you leave the specifications for the car (witch are written in your papers). It means, that you car-papers say: 245 50R16 and you will install 275 40R18. The easyst way is to have a ABE for the new rims. Then you drive to the TÜV and there, the guys will check if the new installet rims absolutely save on you car. Many guys tune the wings and the wheels will have contact with it and thats not save for germany. In 99% of these situations the TÜV will say: OK fine.
Here comes my problem: In the german camaro papers are written, that the load rating of the rear axle is 1190Kg (one wheel 595Kg = 1311.38LBS). The Torq Thrust II rims from the USA have no german papers (like ABE) and have a lower load rating then the rear axle (1250LBS = 567,50Kg). Now i must have the US-papers for the wheels and must drive to the TÜV. The TÜV will check mutch of things, if the rims fit to my car. Then the TÜV will reduce my rear axle wight to 2500LBS = 1134.301Kg. And this is a very hard way to go. But i think it will work.
All the safety things here in germany are horrible but i think "needed". One of you guys says (one of the reason is the autobahn), i think its not easy to say. Yes, i think a big part of those rules and law is our traffic system, but the most important thing is the biggest german rule: "SAVE YOU AND ALL THE OTHERS". And thats it. It means: My car must be safe. When i leave a wheel or to big rims kill my whings and i leave parts when i drive 140MPH and this parts kill other people, then its mad. And this is the thinking of our german gouvernment.
But i hope nobody thinks, that we cant tun up the cars.. no, we only have harder rules and cannot install so many parts like you in the USA, but the most we can do (but with a lot of papers and TÜV-visits)

Re: German 99 Camaro Z28 Driver need help
I understand it a little better now. I didn't realize you guys had to go through so much to get stuff done. It makes sense either way I guess, either get stuff checked when you want to change it, or check it from the manufacturer. Although, we have a lot of stupid drivers in the US. We also don't get to go 140 legally unless it's on a track.

You ask if your german is good. The gramatik was not ok. But when you never talk german, then its good
Where is your location in the USA?
The most german autobahns have no speed limit. But it sounds better then it is. Here in germany the most parts of the autobahn have 2 or 3 lanes in one direction. Now you can think 3 lanes + lot of traffic = the most people cannot drive faster then 120MPH. Sure, its a very nice freedom to drive anytime so fast if you want. I have one nice video where i come from berlin and run till my hometown till direction dresden on the autobahn. I will take a look if i become this vid smaler for the internet.
Here, i take a view pictures fro windows media player:
EDIT: Many people ask whats the diffrence between the US and the Export Camaro.
All what i know is that:
1. The Camaro have the rear Foglites in the rear bumper
2. The export Camaro have bigger Mirrors
3. The headlights have clear glases and all extra-options
4. Export versions only have grey leather
5. Export versions only have targaroof
6. All export versions have the californian air-options (catalytic options are other
7. The Export Versions have a bigger cooler (like the californian version)
8. The Export versions have no underbodypaint
9. And the export versions have a smaler exhaust system (but everyone who buy a camaro give that thing in the trash and buy the US-versions
I think thats all
Oh, and in germany the petrol cost at the moment 1,26EUR per litre 96octane!!! Thats crazy
