is this a good way to get rid of vats

will this really get rid of the pain in the *** vats system. If it will work it looks easer then matching it up to the sensor in the key to a resistor.

It does simulate the signal needed to go to the PCM, but if you have a key pellet problem, you won't be able to engage the starter unless you bypass the pellet or the TDR. You have to know how the whole system works (explained on my Tech Page).

"This VATS bypass module is intended for use when installing a GM engine equipped with VATS (Vehicle Anti-Theft System) into a vehicle missing the BCM"

This is useless in an F-body, unless you have eliminated your BCM. It does not eliminate the common key reading problem.

if edited out, you still need to rewire the TDR

I just used a resistor. Cost me a whole dollar and took about ten minutes of my time. Haven't had an issue since.

Can you go into detail on how you did it my friend?

A few are interested in doing that to our f-body cars.

Thanks!

It's been a while since I was under there to do it, so I'll have to get back under the dash and check it out again. I remember it for the most part, but I don't want to give any bad information. I'll go back under it and get some pictures this afternoon. I did get all of my information from shoebox's website though.
