i just bought my 96 ws6, and while removing the alt to get to the ps pump, i see a large ground behind the alt was cut, does anybody know where it goes?

 

I don't know of any large ground behind the alt. Just the 12v battery cable to the alt.

 

Maybe its the ground that goes to the motor mount.

 

You only have two feeds going to the alternator, you have the cable that runs to the battery obviously,and also an electrical connection that provides the dash voltmeter input. But if either of these lines were cut, I don't see your car operating for long as the alternator wouldn't be able to charge.

 

nono guys, its not going TO the alt, its a ground on the tube style Bracket comming from the engine block

 

Don't know of any large ground wire that was placed there from the factory. The battery cable ground should be down by the motor mount.
