Headlight question:
My 95 Formula has never been in a crash or really modded. Pretty stock. I am having issues with the driver side headlight. About 6 months ago it went out. I replaced it with a Wagner bulb, stock for the car, no brighter blue or anything, this is just basically a top down cruiser. Well 2 weeks ago the Wagner is burned out. I think that the bulb was just bad or weak, thinking it happens sometime so I replace it with a Sylvania, again just regular replacement, nothing special. Well tonight I am driving home from dinner and the bulb pops and goes out again. I do not know if the is something I need to check in the wiring as this has never happened before. The headlight motors are fresh replacements and function properly but the driver side does jiggle a little over bumps. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

Re: Headlight question:
It sounds like you have a loose connection somewhere, at the bulb socket probably. Incandescent bulbs have only a limited number of on-off cycles and if the connection is bad, that makes for a great increase in that cycle number as the bulb flickers on and off rapidly. Even though it may feel tight overall, one of the prongs in the socket may be loose. Another place to check is the ground lug on the driver side next to the radiator.

Re: Headlight question:
Is the ground the silver wire that screws in right by the assembly and should I just go ahead and replace the socket. An driving from florida to Tenn. and the Blue Ridge Parkway/Skyline Drive/Tail of the Dragon next week and don't want to worry about it....

Re: Headlight question:
Replaced the bulb socket and re cleaned the ground and all is well, even after 1700 mile driving vacation in heavy rain. Thanks for the help. Used a NAPA replacement, much better wires than the factory socket. Soldered together then heat shrink wrapped.
