Help with 96 T/A Wiper Blades
I stop by O’reillys auto parts this morning for some wiper blades and spark plugs, Got the plugs but the blades are another story.
We looked at all the cars in the parking lot and the “hook” that the clip on the blade snaps in where facing down my T/A faces up. The blades that are on the car are not installed correctly they are kinda rigged.
Me and the counter guy “not a kid” went through
about 5 different sets before we come to the conclusion
that my car needs a direct fit set of blades.
All he could tell me was his info shows that my car takes a 22” blade.
I told him that my buddies on the forum would have the answer.
A little side note, I have a 2000 SS in the shop and the hook faces down.

Re: Help with 96 T/A Wiper Blades
Well I have a 1997. And when I got new blades, I had to snap off the clip part and turn it around it took me about a week of looking at them to figure it out, or it might have extra clips that go in. The ones I got did... But ya, I finally got them in and now like misses half the bottom on the drivers side so I still can't see crap. Lol. I've tried switching them and stuff, but they still miss..
Anyone have help with that?

I also had a problem getting mine on but I don't remember what I did to get them on. They miss the center of the windshield right now, but when I first put them on they were way way worse. I bent them to get them to touch. I try not to drive in the rain anyways so I don't use the wipers that often. I only got caught in rain 2 times last summer and any other time I will not use them because they make a clean spot on the window and the rest of the car is still dusty. Hahaha

That's because if you take a look at your wiper the arm
is on top of the wiper, it has it cocked.
The arm goes under the main wiper frame.
The only thing the arm should touch is the mounting clip.

Re: Help with 96 T/A Wiper Blades
You have to have the right wiper blades on these cars.
I went back and forth with this for a mouth or two.
I drove mine home about 30min after I posted the pic's and it was raining,
they worked perfect!!
After I ordered the Anco Part # 22-24 from O'reilly's.
I found a post on here saying the Trico part # 24-9R is a direct fit.
O'reillys don't carry Trico so I went to Advanced Auto
and picked up a set.
I done this so when I got home at least one set would fit.
They both do so I'm keeping the Trico's for spares.

Re: Help with 96 T/A Wiper Blades
I've been using Rain-X wiper blades because of their interchangeable hook clips. Just pop the hook clip out, turn it upside down, and put it back on to the post. Ta-da, instant reverse hook compatible blades. They're not perfect - they don't have quite the curve the Anco direct fits had and so the edges lift off the glass a bit. But it does nail about 23 inches worth of coverage so you're not really wanting with these.
Since I cannot find the Anco ones in stores anymore they are the best substitute.
