Help! Parking brake lever stuck up!
Alright, I've had this happen before and I've put it right down without problems. And I've had my counsel off before and put it up and down without problems. I just installed a new shifter, and now I can't get my parking brake lever down after the counsel went on. Is there anything I need to depress or any tricks to gettting it down this time?

I don't really understand the problem. Did you use a screwdriver on the gear thing to get the brale straight up? If so, then you might just have to use a little force to get it back down. I have never had a problem with this though, but try holding the button it, then pulling back on the ebrake first, then it should go forward easily.

Re: Help! Parking brake lever stuck up!
I know this is an old thread but im going to try....i went to pull my e brake to test it for state inspection and noticed it would pull up with no resistance and would not hold the car at all. went on the bottom side and looked at the brake cables and noticed the the plastic connector that sets in the first metal hanger had come out and was not allowing the e brake cable to pull...i ended up having to pull the e brake handle to the up (apply) position in order to get enough slack to put the cable back into the holder on the bottom side in the drive shaft tunnel. now my e brake handle will not go back down...it is stuck in the 12 o clock position....any ideas?
