Hi Everyone,
Too many toys in the garage and I need to sell my 1987.5 IROC-Z Convertible. What is this vehicle worth? A president of the Camaro club quoted me $13k back before the market bottomed out. Curious what current market value is so I can price it accordingly when it's put for sale:

Year: 1987½
Model: Camaro Z28 IROC-Z Convertible (20th Anniversary)
Options: Police Package, 5-speed TPI, PW, PDL
Colors: Triple Black
Mileage: 88,XXX

This is a BRASS HAT car as it was internally ordered by an executive at AC Delco when it was part of GM. (This is verified by a copy of the window sticker.) Car has been documented by GM Media Archives and I have both a packet of emails between GM and myself as well as the actual emails still in my folder. Car is currently a #3 car. Fine to drive today and worthwhile fully restoring down the road.

So... what's this car worth?

I can say this. Not 13k.

 

To me, or most of your potential buyers, $3-4K. If you find the right buyer, MAYBE $6-7K. If you find a fool, $10K.

No to be harsh or anything, but going by RPOs my Camaro is 1 of 7, and my Trans Am is 1 of 1. Neither are special by any means.

 

Same here, I special ordered my '84, so it's 1 of 1. I think 4K is reasonable for a coup a little more for the vert.

 

A nice convertible can sell for 6-10k. I bought mine with 60k miles for $7500 hack in 2002 and I don't think that was out of line.

There are buyers out there. Example... if yours was listed for 4-5 grand, I would probably find room for it.. haha if I were in your shoes I would put it on eBay reserved for $7000 and see what happens. I think it will sell there, it might not sell for 5 grand in your driveway.
