where I lived I looked at 15 different f-body's before I found mine, and saw only one hard top, it was a 95 Formula, cloth seats, Auto, and had been wrecked and put back together.

no offense...but they are only rare because they were not very desirable...thats why they didnt make that many...

The only 93's with t-tops were the Indy pace cars.

BS! I'm plenty happy with my hardtop, do you know how many times the tops came off my 94 during the year I had it? 3! Plus now I have less squeeks and rattles, and wind noise is dang near non-existent.

And the point was also made earlier........Why would you want t-tops or a 'vert in the northern states?

I don't think you would want to be driving your Camaro in the winter in northern states anyways. I'd wish I had found a hardtop car, having t-tops is fun, but I'd kill to have a tighter car with fewer rattles. Also, the hardtop looks much sleeker that the t-top, and looks much better if you have a stripe.

Talking Re: HOW RARE ARE 1993-1997 hardtop camaros?#'s would be helpful.

I've had both a 97 SS t-top and my current car 97 SS ht and I much prefer the ht to the t-top. The t-tops always leaked water under heavy rain or even going thru the carwash always had wet floor in rear passenger footwells and the wind noise at high speed was annoying.
Both cars had sfc but because of the hardtop it's even stiffer with the sfc's, I specifically searched for a hardtop this time and I would never buy another 4th gen that wasn't hardtop.

OH my lord what a differance in opinions GM created. I own both a t-top and hardtop Trans Am both of the 95 year. Iv never had my t-tops leak ever and its not any noiser then my hardtop. THe squeaks and rattles you all talk about are easily fixed folks tighten bolts and screws back up. YES STB and subframe connectors will help but it also kinda depends on the abuse the car has or has not seen just another opinion though. As far as being rare, im in OHIO and i see a crap load of both t-top and hardtop cars, covertables are around but they arent in very good shape. I will admit leather in t-tops isnt good combo. My TA with t-tops has cloth from the factory and thank god. Obviously GM listned when they made the cars people wanted "fully loaded" cars hence the t-tops with leather and hardtops with cloth, the sales numbers speak themselves. Ill look through my books and find exact numbers and post back.

Oh and not to start a fight but my T top car doesnt look any less sleaker then my hardtop car. I wont limit what i buy in the future because of t-tops or hardtop because i tried that and no matter what its all upto how the car drives and handles in my opinion. I was once a t-top guy only but im not preferential anymore, except NO COVERTABLES, they look odd with bulky tops up but thats just my opinion, hence my only one limist on f bodies is NO CONVERTABLE in the stable lol.

If you put in the t-top shades, it will keep your leather cool, and your hide from tanning on the hot seat. I keep mine in all the time except during winter.

BTW, it seems to me that hardtops for older LT1's ('93-'95ish) are somewhat uncommon. Almost every LT1 Z28 I look at has T-Tops. I'd personally love to find a clean hardtop sometime next spring...

here's a 93 m6 hardtop of Mine.... and to the other question 93's were also made with t-tops my son had one. I do beleive that the Patriod red in the video and pic was the only year for that color...I am trying to find the build date since its 20 years old this year

Wow.... 8+ year old thread rises from the dead.

To find your build date - see if it matches any of the documentation - go here and enter your VIN:

Comprehensive Chevrolet, Saturn, GMC, Hummer, Cadillac, Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Geo, Dodge, Plymouth, Jeep, Chrysler, Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Mazda Truck, Mercedes VIN Decoder

The "Camaro White Book" indicates that Medium Patriot Red Metallic (code 71) was available in:

1993 - 6,903

1994 - 11,005

1995 - 9,500
