Re: I have some technical questions
First of all...welcome.
Bolt-ons are modifications where it's as simple as remove old part and replace with new part, without having to do extravagent rebuilds. You can say "external" modifications: catbacks, headers, intake. Others like cam swap, changing displacement.. I wouldn't consider bolt ons.
So torque converter clutch...hmm.. automatics have torque converters in place of a clutch to disengage the engine and transmission. So, no such thing as torque converter clutch. Here's a good site to explain how TCs work:
http://auto.howstuffworks.com/torque-converter.htm
Is NOS dangerous to use...loaded question...anything can be dangerous depending on the driver. You've been watching 2 Fast 2 Furious too many times. In general, there are established NOS kits in the market that are commonly used, so under proper application, it's not dangerous.

Re: I have some technical questions
Pretty much what he said but newer automatic transmissions have lock-up torque converters that use a clutch to engage the torque converter into a 'direct drive' like manual trannys to help improve gas mileage at cruising speeds.

it is how you should do it on just about any car, the kits are wired this way.
i've heard of the ls1's running around 150 to 175 hp shot stock, do a seach on the n20 section below the lt1 tech section, also you should use what is called a window switch, it allows the n20 to start and stop at set rpm's.
don't hit the n20 below 3000 rpm unless you have a bit of experience with it, 3000 is a safe point to bring it in under wot.

I am wondering what will happen if you press the nos from idling (( low rpm )) ? I guess it's will be hard to control ??

Re: I have some technical questions
from an idle, probably break a piston or rod maybe a crank, i don't know of anybody trying that, do not do that.
read up on n20 , there is plenty of info on this web site, like i said , go to the n20 section and just start reading. lots of good info and a little bad, good luck, ps ....nitrous is very fun to use

Re: I have some technical questions
EIPITL -- Along with LT4orbust's excellent suggestion of reading the N2O section of this board, the latest issue of Chevy High Performance magazine has a very good article on nitrous.
N2O is used in hospitals and dentists. Every time I go to the dentist, I try to talk him out of a bottle of N2O but he thinks I'm just trying to get a buzz, lol. I tell him the buzz I'd get running it in the car at the strip would be much bigger The cute little blond dental assistant always asks how the car is running
