Re: info on 85 iroc-z
The "Camaro White Book" indicates:
"A new option, the IROC Sport Equipment Package (RPO B4Z) debuted on 1985..... featured lower trim height and center of gravity, special front struts, springs and jounce bumpers, Delco-Bilstein rear shocks, special rear springs and stabilizer bar, higher effort steering, increased caster, front frame rail reinforcement, Goodyear Eagle P245/50VR blackwall tires on 16x8 aluminum wheels, fog lamps, numerous chassis tweaks, and unique graphics. The IROC was not a separate Camaro model, rather it was an option available with the Z28 models. This was a car capable of .92g's in skidpad tests and seven-second 0-60mph times, all in shopwroom trim"
and....
"At introduction, three 305ci engines were available. The RPO LG4 was rated at 155hp and included with the Z28, or optional with the Berlinetta or Sport Coupe. The RPO L69, rated at 190HP could only be ordered with the IROC package and only with a manual transmission. It was discontinued during the model year. RPO LB9, rated at 215hp, had tuned port fuel injection and was optional with both standard Z28s and IROC Zs. But RPO LB9 could be ordered only with automatic transmission."
In 85, they sold 68,403 Z28s, of which 21,177 were equipped with the IROC package.
