Intake kit won't allow hood to close

Intake kit won't allow hood to close
I was installing my new K&N FIPK intake kit on my 1997 Z28 and after i finished, I couldn't get the hood to close. The intake tube seems to stick up too high and I have tried everything to get it to go lower.
I contacted K&N and even sent them pictures, but they were no help.
Does anyone have any ideas or advice for me to try?
Oh, and the intake tube is right up against the radiator cover and a braking(?) module so the space is tight.

Below is a pic of my K&N 57-3010-1 installation, the tube actually touches the radiator and the ABS module, so the clearances are real tight. As far as height the hose clamp screws leave an impression on the hood insulation, so there's not much room in any direction. I do have a CRT intake elbow instead of the stock intake , but that should not effect the installation. Since you can't move the ABS unit, can you remove the three bolts holding the radiator shroud and try to move the top of the rad forward ? If so maybe oblong the shroud holes a bit. By any chance has the car been in an accident that could have pushed the rad back a bit ?? Also I found drilling the hole for the base plate bolt should be done after everything is fitted, I drilled mine to early and had to relocate the hole a bit to get a proper fit.

had the same problem on my 95, the problem is that k&n doesnt tell you that that kit does NOT fit cars with ABS and traction control...
all i did was bend some of the front brake lines back a little bit until it slid in. i can tell you from your pictures that is the problem...
