I have to replace the interior a/c control head. How or can the front dash panel come off? Or do i have to remove the entire dashboard to replace it.

This is on a 94 lt1

 

Do you have a Firebird or a Camaro?

 

guess I should have indicated it was a Camaro, sorry

 

Don't have a Camaro, and the Firebird procedure is much simpler - pull the surround off. Maybe someone with a Camaro can help out.

According to the 94 factory manual:

Remove "bezel assembly, instrument panel cluster trim plate". The diagram shows it as the entire plastic piece that surrounds the instrument cluster, HVAC panel and headlight switches. The written steps indicate 4 bolts holding the bezel to the dash carrier. The diagram shows the two bolts on the bottom edge, but does not locate the additional bolts.

Disconnect temperature control cable electrical connector and vacuum wiring harness electrical connector.

Remove screws that hold panel to the dash
