keep blowing turn signal fuse

Re: keep blowing turn signal fuse
Do you know which action caused the fuse to blow - a left turn, a right turn, etc?
Did the circuit have the correct 15-amp fuse?
Fuse #2 also serves the backup lights. Is it possible the fuse blew when you put it in reverse?

Thanks Fred. i did have a 15 amp fuse. do not know what action caused it to blow. when i got back home i changed the fuse and the signals worked without blowing the fuse. its possible that it blew when i went into reverse. ill check it out. thanks

While the turn signals are working, take a walk around the car and make sure each bulb is functioning properly. If it's not the BU lights, and the fuse blows again, a non-working bulb may be a clue to the problem area.
The wiring diagrams for the turn signals are fairly complicated. Shoebox has the main diagram and the BU lights, but I don't see the the continuations of the circuits that are on other pages.

The download version of the 1995 factory service manual from GaryDoug is missing a lot of pages in the electrical diagnosis section, including the ones we would need. We would have to use the diagrams in the 1994 manual to try and trace things down.

Re: keep blowing turn signal fuse
i checked the sockets they were ok. got the car up and pulled the plug off the switch. stuck a paper clip in the plug to jump it out. signals and back up lights work without blowing the fuse. changed the switch and problem resolved. thanks guys
