knowlege needed about the "Earnhardt edition" camaros

to make a long story short......

About 2 years ago I heard about a "Dale Earnhardt" edition camaro (01 SS) being in town.... I checked it out and really could care less about this so called "package" it had. It was a nice car at a good price so i bought it. This is the car i currently own today.

at the time i made a post in reguards to this "package" it supposedly had in order to get to the bottom of this. The guy i bought it from said it came with an ls6 b/c of this package (never heard of an f body w/ full ls6 )...... well , it does have the ls6 block but this guy supposedly knows his f body stuff ....

so after researching the topic i find out that there was only 1 "intimidator" series camaro made (the black ones) so i assume the guy i bought the car from was full of ****..... but here lately i've been hearing about some kind of Dale Earnhardt "signature series" camaros that supposedly exhist...

The only thing "DE" about the car is a small silver Dale Earnhardt signature below the left taillight.. This "sig series" camaro also has ugly seats/door panels in the interior. My SS has the black marble looking pattern to its seats and door panels, IMO it looks sh!tty....Performance wise, from what i can tell its just a basic ls1 but it always pulls hard from other ls1's. Maybe it was just a factory goody as some are. The car is pewter w/ a black hard top.

Any info on this subject will be greatly appreciated.

They are. All the Intimidator SS's are black w/silver stripe. There were 83 made in 2001. The first batch (I think up to number 38) were hand signed on the gauge overlay by Dale. They were available Phase I;II; or II. They were converted by GMMG and the same upgrades were available as for the other GMMG Camaros. The pewter car could have been something dale Earnhardt Chevrolet sold with a couple of stickers added to it. There was a bunch of that stuff over the years on all different Chevies. (Lumina; Monte; Camaro; trucks) I have a friend that bought one of the Intimidators and he has done a lot of research on them. Do you want to sell yours??

is the badge you are talking about look like this one(under the driver tail light)? If so that is just the badge to Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet, I had one on my car before I changed my berger panel

its just a silver Dale Earnhardt signature below the left taillight. It's about 6 inches long.

If it is like what 94_PatriotRed_Z posted, it's just a dealer tag/advertisement like most every new car has (first thing I remove from a new car). I can't imagine any Intimidator model not being black.

I think it's more than just a dealship sticker. It's also a resale benefit.

I still have all the origional paperwork/ warranty info on the car. It was all left in the glove box. The car was bought from Mac Haik Chevrolet in houston, texas. Not a DE dealership. so i guess the mystery continues..
