Larger front air dam?

Did the 4th gen RS's come with larger front air dams? I think I need a new one and if I could get a slightly larger one, that would probably help with cooling, right?

I think thas what he is talking about, because he asks about the RS which has ground effects so, he wants to know if that plastic lip(air dam) is larger to scoop air from under the ground effects. His sig says his is a '97 so it wouldnt have the grill you are probably thinking about.

As to the topic of this thread Im sorry I dont know that answer.

Yeah, definetely talking about the actual air dam, not the front bumper cover. I thought I remember reading about a bigger one being available, but maybe not.

there is one at RK i know for sure and some other places online. I had to get it for my front ground effect to help in cooling it.

Re: Larger front air dam?

When you buy the FX kit from RK, Wings West, et.al. it comes with a larger air dam. It's at least a couple of inches deeper, then stock. Not sure about the factory RS dam. Would check part numbers with the dealer. We had a discussion on this the other day in, I think, the appearance sect. Someone is making larger metal/rubber dams. Try a search.

Re: Larger front air dam?

There was a guy that had one made from stainless steel. Looked good. I'd have someone design a much bigger one with a scoop to get as much air as possible up there.

Not my links to repost. It looked like the one sold by speedpsecialty.com but was a little bigger I think.

Re: Larger front air dam?

A larger air dam? that would be horrible. my stock sized one scrapes the ground every second of every day. if i had a larger one it would be laying out on the road somewhere....

Re: Larger front air dam?
