Lighting

I have checked the fuses and switched the black fuses under the hood with the ac compressor fuse, so it's not the fuses.

I'm busy right now, but I'll check out the wiring diagram later on and see if there's something in common with those components.

I've been studying the electrical schematics for a bit, and here's the first thing I can think of:

Take the headlights switch apart and place it in the "parking lights" position. Check to make sure you have power running through the brown wire. This switch appears to make many different connections, and I'm wondering if it has something to do with your problem.

Other than that, find a buddy with another F-body, or even a similar year headlight switch that will work in it's place and swap them out and see what happens.

Had a question... Can anyone tell me if the left half of the fuse box go to a body control module or something like that? I can't imagine that the left half would just stop getting power... Also I'm very ignorant when it comes to electrical stuff, so please be patient with me...Thanks in advance guys

UPdate- Brent, I checked the headlight switch like you said, I"m not getting power to the yellow, grey, orange, and brown leads... no idea if that helps at all

Cool

I appreciate the help Brent. It seems sometimes that I'm swimming against the current when it comes to this car. I love the power, the handling, the heritage...but darn, I a little miffed when the small things crop up. Makes me wanna trade it in for a Lincoln LS or a '96 Impy... Well thanks again for helping me out.

I'll grab my book and take it to work with me. I haven't had time for much of ANYTHING this week besides eat, sleep, work...

I work full time and am also a full time student this semester, so I can't wait to get finished with school on Aug. 7 so I have back the time I need to put in my cam!

Anyway, my best friend lives in Hawaii right now. He's a car nut also, but owns an STi. I could get him to come and help you but he's not much of an electrician...

Question

Hey Brent, switched out the headlight switch, no love. Anyway you can tell me if the turn signal carries the wiring in regards to the aforementioned problem? Thanks for all your help man.

Re: Lighting problem...

Hey man, got a major problem now...the taillights were blown, replaced those and they work now.

New problem- Problem now is, the car cranks but doesn't start, if it does, it dies right away. Don't get spark at the coil...not sure what to check next...Have replaced the coil, ICM, opti & pcm to opti harness (1500 miles ago), and am looking really hard at my MSD digital 6+ ... there are two sets of wires coming from the MSD...am not sure if internally they are bad...
