Low coolant light still on.

Ive searched and cant find a solution to getting the light to go off even after I unplug it on the radiator. Do I need to unplug the RAP module for a few seconds or what? Thanks in advance. This is on a 94 z28.

Re: Low coolant light still on.

Did you check the level sensor harness wires to make sure they are not shorted together?

Not shorted on the plug, but somewhere down the harness they could probably be shorted I guess.

Would there be any other reason for the light to stay on?

The latching relay is in the RAP module. Haven't heard of that going bad, but I suspect it's possible.

Radiator is full, I am sure the wires are shorted down the line somewhere, just have to find the time to check them.

Re: Low coolant light still on.

This may help locate the short: Use a multimeter set to continuity with an audible beeper if available. Unplug the connector and connect the meter leads to each wire. Then move along the wire bundles wiggling them until the short becomes intermittent. You can do this without a beeper alarm if you use long leads and keep the meter positioned where you can see the display. Another tool to use instead is a battery-powered test light.
