I would take what I could out of this and put the experience into the "Lessons Learned" category.
I would try to end up with a manifold that my engine builder could use to finish my engine, even if it meant a patched up manifold.
I would thank Lloyd for going out of his way to help.
I would curse Bret and his offspring to the portals of Hades.
I would apologize to my engine builder for holding up the build.
But that's just me, because I would be tired of fighting a losing battle.

Would you guys trust Bret "fixing" his mistakes? If the guy couldn't perform an operation the 1st time WITHOUT of the current drama and BS do you REALLY think he's going to put a loving touch on fixing the mistakes? According to him this is a waste of his time. If you think that then I have some oceanfront property to sell you in AZ, really cheap...honest.

I still think Dennis needs to step up too, he's the one that subletting the job to douche nozzle Bret.
