i got into an accident in november and should be getting it back this week. it has a full tank of gas. is there anything i should put in the gas or anything else to prevent problems down the road?

Just go to your auto parts store and buy water remover (gas treatment) and a can of octane booster. I wouldnt beat on the car too bad until you get good gas back in her.

 

Yah, it shouldn't be too bad after five months... You could probably run it and just burn out all that old gas.

 

i just bought stp octane boost and completefuel system cleaner today. its made with jet fuel!!!!!!!!!! i wasnt planning on beating on it till that tank of gas was gone anyways. sounds like im on the right track. just wanted to check with the pros first.

I would definately get some water remover though. Condensation of 5 months shouldnt be a problem but better safe than sorry. But if there is water in the tank it can play hell causing missing and studdering

 

would the fuel system cleaner remove the water or should i pick something else up? and if so, what is it called.

Any gas line antifreeze better known as denatured alcohol will burn up any water or condensation. 5 months is really nothing to worry about
