Your claim that brake rotors always warp where you live would seem to limit responders to those who live where you live. Never heard of that one before.

ABS bleeding can be complicated. Best thing to do is follow the factory manual.

You also need to consider the fact that there are only about a 1/2 dozen people left on this site that can help, and they aren’t here 24/7.

Go with a Raybestos, Wagner, or Bendix set of rotors and pads from Rock Auto.

Bleeding drain your MC fill with fresh fluid and with another person bleed the RR, then LR, RF, and finally the FR all while adding fresh fluid as needed approximately a qt plus or minus.

Also need to bleed the two bleeders on the motor pack, if you follow the factory procedure. Both before and after doing the four calipers. If there are any EBCM codes set, the motors in the motor pack need to be rehomed , either with something like a Tech-1 or 2 or following the alternative procedure.

Re: Need to Do Brake Job, Help

I got rotors, pads and fluid from Sam Strano. I believe the pads were Hawk, which seem to have a very good rep. For whatever it’s worth, he actually talked me out of buying some stuff I didn’t really need. He has a website as well.

Those rear rotors look like they can be turned if there is anyone in your area that still does that.

Take a pic of the caliper as it is. Did you open the master cylinder and check fluid level?

Re: Need to Do Brake Job, Help

I even took the bleeder screw out to make sure that there wasn't any fluid resisting it.

Looks like previous owner had used red rtv to stick the back of the pads, so who knows what else they did!

Re: Need to Do Brake Job, Help

IIRC the piston should go back to sit almost flush with the parking brake piece. Worst case, Mienkie (sp?) will rebuild calipers for about $100 a pair if they are really damaged.
