Unhappy Need help with horn problem.

When I bought my car horns did not work so I found some on E-bay last week out of a 2000 ss camaro, so I got them. Tested the horns they work. (Just touched the hot and ground to the battery to test, and sure enough now I'm def.) But I took out my old horns hook up new ones and nothing. Need some help on the wiring. Whats should I do next. (oh yeah the old horn only had one green wire.I figured they grounded when bolted up. But the new horns have got a green wire and a black wire, but the plugs are the same.) Anybody know what I need to do?

Check the fuse. Is there a green and black wire on the cars side of the clip?

I'd findout for sure if thats how it came from the factory and if it is then just tap into that black wire and ground it somewhere.

If it did come with a black wire from the factory (I know my 99 did) then you have to use that (factory) wire in order to complete the circuit.

Yeah I'll just cut the clip off, use the clip with the green wire and black wire (from the SS horn) and ground the black to the frame somewhere or to the battery if nothing else. Not big deal to put the old clip back on if needed. Maybe this will work.

Re: Need help with horn problem.

I'm hoping the 95 horn grounded when mounted. Because I did't have the horn off the 2000 SS mounted when I tried it, so they could have been the problem, not being grounded. The horn from my 95 and the ones out of the 2000 are different. The ones off my 95 where mounted seperate with seperate brackets the ones off the 2000 Are mounted on one bracket. Hopefully if I try again and use the other plug and the ground wire that'll take care of it. What do you think?

Re: Need help with horn problem.

I tried something similar on my 99 and it didn't I work I think it uses the black wire to close the circuit when you press the horn. If you only have a green wire and supposed to only have a green wire that should definitely work, assuming the fuse isn't blown or something like that.

Ok now I can honk at all of the stupid f@%$ again. I cut off the old plug hooked up the new ones off the 2000 SS and grounded the black wire to the frame and works great now.
