new to board and need some help

so yeah new to this board. annnd just got a new car. i got a 1999 TA like a week ago and making some mods too it. already ordered a hypertech programmer along with a 160 degree thermostat and a SLP air box lid. the first thing i wanted to get though was exhaust buuuut it seems choosing which exahust system to get is the hardest decision. I'm stuck between corsa, borla and magnaflow. if anyone can help me out and let me know which one sounds best, looks best and has the best performance that would be great.
Thanks

Use the search feature for exhaust you're looking at and scour the threads for sound clips. Listen to them and see which sounds the best to you. I love the sound of my Flowmaster w/Mac mid length headers and !cat/cutout but it's all subjective. Just try to check out as many as you can before deciding.

Welcome to the board.

Spend some time on www.ls1sounds.com before you drop big bucks on an exhaust system, that's what I did.

As far as power, the TSP Rumbler and SLP Loudmouth will make the most power of any catback due to their straight-through and wide-open design with virtually no restrictions.

As far as sound, that's entirely up to you.

You must REALLY like that car to make a statement like that in your sig.

I can say the same about women as her sig says...lol. Women just don't understand about the love I have for my car!

Ditto here. My car got me though a divorce and 2yrs of not dating -- I was having so much fun modding and driving the car! Now after 2yrs + of dating, I still feel the same. A very good female friend says I'm just not dating the right girls . . . phfft.

So TransAm99Chic, you're sig is perfectly understandable and funny. Anyway, the folks on this board have been a huge help to me modding the car and even other subjects. Glad to have you here.

GMMG is supposed to have an awesome sound, but I'm happy with my Borla for now. It has kind of like a cut out, one pipe is muffled and one bypasses the muffler. It has different size plates to adjust the flow through the muffler.

NOBODY understands my obsession with my car, sometimes not even me. Like an inborn drive to mess with it and to hear that beautiful sound it makes....UGH.....Mod junkie is more like it. When you haven't seen your car in almost a year, you hear another modded F-Bod get on it when you are in traffic...... .VERY frusterating! It gives me goose bumps!

You probably could have saved the money spent on the HPP and gotten a custom tune. HPPs are not so great for adding power.

Ditto. I would sell the HPP or return it asap. Its junk for what you get. I would go with a Corsa. It sounds great and the tips look awesome.

yeah. well for now I'm just gonna see what the HPP does. right now its not my money being spent. my dad is doing all the stuff for now b/c he is gonna have it when i go to college in august, so its pretty much what he wants, but over the next few years i'm paying for the car and some of it will get changed. soooo yeah. and we actually ended up going with the borla - dual squared angle tips.

I'd get SLP Loudmouths, but of the 3 you listed, Borla.
