New Car, and it has some problems

hey guys, i'm new here at camaro z28. i just bought a 1994 z28, and it works pretty well, except for some things.

1. when driving slow, i can hear a knocking about every second near the back of my car.

2. when driving around corners, and just driving slow, my wheels squeak.

3. when punching the gas pedal, my transmssion knocks several times while accelerating hard.

hmmm. AH! the biggest problem, i just remembered.

after gunning it, a while later, i will be sitting at a red light, and my engne will surge up from idle to about 2000 rpm. enough to move the car even through have my brakes on. i have to hit the brakes hard. this usually stops when i put the car in neutral. but sometimes it doesnt.

can anyone help?

the brake squeak bit is common. caliper to rotor contact. search this site to see how people put washers in as "shims".
The last one is probably a shot transmission mount... easy and cheap fix... again, search on here.

I had a bent axle and it made a tapping sound and would get worse when I used the brakes. You could tell by running the car while on jack stands.

I would check for a broken transmission mount to fix your trans problem. As far as your car surging my did the same thing and I found out I had 3 bad fuel injectors which were stuck part way open.

thanks guys, i'll try to check the injectors. i was also told that the throttle body might just need a good cleaning with some gum cutter. and yes, i will try to run the car on stands to see if the axle is bent. and no, i could not find any iformation on putting shims on the wheels to reduce squeaking.
