New here first thread

Just joined and look forward to talking with all of you! I recently purchased a 99 Z28 convertible. The keyless system works minus the fact that from time to time the alarm goes off for no reason. I have tried locking the car manually and it still sets off the alarm with me standing in front off it. Not real sure where to begin looking for the problem. Any ideas? Thanks in advance-- Jerry

I'd try turning the alarm shock sensor down too, if that doesn't work disconnect it - if it stops probably the sensor. Welcome aboard.

Re: New here first thread

I found a sensor behind the spare tire. Where would I turn it down at or is it somewhere else? And thanks

That's it, mine's on the wheel well - look for a small white **** (might have tape over it) - turning it counterclockwise decreases the sensitivity. Verts should be the same.

Meant the sensor should be in the same location - was just thinking how to get to it might be different than the hardtop cars. Turning it down worked for me. Had to do it when I moved back to Florida and now park it on an incline instead of level - don't know if that had anything to do with it or not.
