Next mod
Well winter is coming soon and I am making a stock pile of mods in my garage. So far I am pulling weight out of the car, fiberglass hood, A/C, spare, rear seats ect, for big mods I would like some MAC long tubes, flowmaster american thunder, pro magnum RR's, and 3.73's. I know I will need a LT4 KM, would a tune be worth it or should I wait till I get a cam?

Re: Next mod
not sure how good the MAC LTs are, but i would say stick with the more common brands, less chance of install hassles.
i highly reccomend you change out your motor mounts when you do the headers. it will virtually eliminate chances of banging from the ypipe or collectors. and since the manifolds will be out you won't have any problems removing them. when my manifolds were in on my 99, it took me 10 hrs to swap mounts!!
proform motor mounts work great, and have no discernable increase in vibration.
and i'd ditch the flowmaster, not the best piece for flow. maybe look into something like the magnaflow or hooker.
and don't forget you need new springs with teh rockers

Re: Next mod
when i took off my magnaflow i looked at the inside.
on the inlet tube, just inside the muffler there is a baffle that directs over 1/2 the exhaust 180degrees and out the passenger side tailpipe. the rest of the exhaust is routed through the muffler.
so YEAH it's really free flowing and had a great sound. although i did notice it was a bit raspy without cats at upper rpms (due to the unmuffled portion of the exhaust). i put an 18" bullet behind the Ypipe and it toned it down a touch without compromising flow.
and the price and look are hard to beat.

Yeah I have a GMPP CAI (LOVE IT!!!!), I know the pipe flows more CFM than the filters, does anyone know what size K&N filter you need to match the flow numbers or has anyone even gone to the trouble of doing that? I am also planing on getting more airflow in the splash guard area for the CAI this winter also.
Thanks for the info on the Magnaflow, I will look into it. There is an 03 Cobra around here with a magnaflow and it sounds SICK.
