Angry No start

Hey guys I've been working on my 1994 z28 for about a week now and it's has me stumped when I parked the car it would try to die when I put my foot on the gas and the next day the car wouldn't start at allI checked the fuel pressure it's good I changed the fuel filter still no luck so I thought it was the icm or the coil both of them are new so then I changed the opti spark plugs and wires I checked the spark by arking the coil wire off the header it was a yellow spark don't know if this has to do with the headers being stainless or not now when the ignition is turned over it chugs at about 100 rpms and dies smells really rich any solutions to this problem

Re: No start

What were the results of the fuel pressure test? At prime? .... 10 minutes after prime stopped? ....while cranking the engine?

Did you scan it for codes? There are codes for the IAC and Opti? Not all of those turn the SES light on.

What brand is the Opti?

Is the engine stock or modified? If modified, what has been done to it?

Re: No start

There's a good chance, if you went to O'Reilly's, they're trying to hook an OBDII scan tool up to an OBDI car. They will not interchange. It's the same with any of the parts stores, unless you find one that kept their OBDI scan tool.

Re: No start

Bosch make a combo OBD-1/OBD-2 scanner. Not sure about the Bosch, but many of these will not work with the LT1 12-pin ALDL connector, because they are looking for a 12V pin and there is none.
