Power steering pump and alternater
Hey all,
Last night on my way home from dropping a friend off my alternater died in the middle of the road. The first thing to go was my head lights, then my guages, then my fuel pump. I was basically stranded. I managed to get a jump and limp it back the two blocks to my house. When I popped the hood and crawled under I saw that my power steering pump (I've had a small leek for a while) had leeked into my alternater, could this have contributed to the death of it?
Thanks

I agree with Fred. Years ago my waterpump leaked onto my accessory belt and caused my power steering to slip. I'm sure power steering fluid is even more slippery than coolant causing your alternator pulley to slip.
