Power window trouble

My power windows in my 94 Z28 will stop working if I use them alot, open and close several times, one after another. But, when I let it set for about a minute, they start working again.

Is there some sort of overload in the circuit that gets hot and opens, and once it cools down, it closes again and lets the windows work?

What ever it is, it cuts power to both windows.

Re: Power window trouble

Basically what your going through is the common window motors in our cars. Go Auto Zone and buy the motors and you will have a life time warranty on them for the next time they go out if they do.

Re: Power window trouble

yea, motors gone
just be thankful you don't have a broken window switch (easy to replace but a pain to not have driverside window being able to go down)

I just got motors on e-bay for $19.95. Lifetime warranty! I installed them and they work great.

Re: Power window trouble

Thanks for the help guys,

My driver's side door lock switch is f'd up, but I have not had a chance to get one yet.

I did stop by a place that i saw on the side of the road, and this older gentlman buys Z28s, SSs, and T/A wreck or at auctions and parts them out.

I went in there looking for a hood stop (the little thing at the corners of the hood that make it sit flush with the fenders), any how he had a bicket of them. He also, had an attic full of seats, racks of wheels and tires, 10 or so motors and 10 or so trannys, I mean this dude had it all.

Point being, I have a connection for parts, so if any of you live in or near San Antonio, Private message me and i can get you the dudes number and directions to his shop.
