problem with charging system. help...

problem with charging system. help...

I just moved my alternator to the other side (driver), because it wont clear the valve cover. And I add about 2 feet of wire. And now the battery wont charge anymore. It' show around 8-10volt. normal like 12-14. What do you guys think? I used a 8 gauge wire.

I found out that on the battery say 13.5 with a voltmeter, but on the gauge in the dash say only 12

Which of the above is correct? Does the dash gauge show 8-10V, or 12V?

How did you make the splices in the wire?
