props to racetronix fuel pump kits

this sunday my fuel pump gave up on me for the last time, it had failed to start once before and it just started after a while and wouldnt fail again so i couldnt diagnose it, this time there was no starting back up it was toast. Anyways, sunday night i ordered the racetronix kit and received it wednesday from Harris Speedworks in Pennsylvania. I got it installed today and the car acts a lot better than it had leading up to the final failure. Thekit went together seemlessly even with an inexperienced person like myself doing it. The kit couldnt have been more well designed with crystal clear instructions. If youre looking for the best pump to get this gets my reccomendation. Now I just have to go patch that hole in my hatch floor

This car is the first time i've ever dealt with an electric fuel pump. i used the Racetronix too and it went together very easy for a first time user. I second the to Racetronix.

I just installed mine last week, and I must say that I agree with the above very nice, well thought out kit. I didn't cut an access hole though, I removed my tank. Its easier than it sounds

The fuel pump comes with everything you will need to install it, but there is also a plug-n-play booster harness. I purchased this too, but it's not madatory. Its runs to the engine bay to supply power to the pump directly from the alternator. It also has provisions for an additional in-line pump if you want to add one. The install of my pump, and booster harness was smooth and trouble free

I got the harness and it bumped up my system voltage 1 whole volt.

yea ive heard that, but does this benefit in the long term..whats the point? Is it even worth it on a stock motor which isnt really demanding more fuel like a Cam'd or n20 car.

Well on my car at WOT the voltage would drop in to the high to mid 12 voltage range. If you don't get enough juice to the PCM then weird stuff can start happening.

Thats strange, my pump came with instructions
I looked on their website and didn't see a link to any instructions, so I'd just e-mail them.

Do a search, there is a guide that has pictures and exact dimensions of where to cut.

Re: props to racetronix fuel pump kits

formula14 i can take some pics of the floor before i patch it. its not very clean cut because all i had to cut with was a pair of dull as hell tin snips. the hole does have to pretty much go all the way to where the back of the seat is save for enough of an edge to screw into to for the hole patch. IM just using some black rtv on the bottom of a sheet of aluminum that i cut to cover the hole and then i will drill through the aluminum and rtv with sheet metal screws to hold it down tight.

Re: props to racetronix fuel pump kits

I used a pair of good quality tin snips and the cuts are "fairly" smooth. I didnt want to risk using a dremel or other tool that would cause sparks. The hardest part I found about installing it was getting the lines to hook up after I got the pump assembly back into the tank.
