Great, thanks again for the reply. What about my question about springs w/ or w/o "dampers"??? See I purchased a set of Dual-Spring w/ Damper, 1.510" and a set of "Super lock retainer, lock agle 10* valve stem size Valve Spring Dia 1.500-1.550". Now I have a weird feeling this may not have been the right choice for my 95z?? any comments are welcome!

Re: Question on springs pls..??
Those are definitely valve stem seals in the pic.
As far as if locators are necessary, yes they are most definitely necessary for an aluminum head. Now, "can I reuse the stock locators" should be the question you are asking. And the answer to that depends on which springs you ordered.
What is the part number of the springs you are getting?
Thomas.

Re: Question on springs pls..??
There are a couple things I do not know if you got yet, but I want to make sure.
1) With 10* locks you will need non-self aligning rocker arms. Self aligning will not work.
2) You will need to get your heads machined to accept that bigger spring.
3) You need 10* locks to go with the 10* retainers.

Yeah it sounds like I did screw up my order!! But I did order the right RR's, they're non-self alighning pn 249-1305-16. This is what I'll do, I send back the huge springs I ordered with the retainers. After some research and feed back from you guys I think the right choice of springs will be the Comp Cams 26918 Beehive Ovate Spring, set of 16 . With the Comp Cams 10 degree Steel Retainer for Comp 26918 valvespring.
And I just keep the other stuff I ordered:
(comp cams)
Push Rods (Dia 5/16", Lengh 7.200) 249-7608-16
Guide Plates, 5/16" 249-4808-8
Rocker Arm, 1.6 Ratio, 7/16" stud 249-1305-16
Rocker Arm Stud, 7/16" 249-4503-16
Oh yeah and I'll ordered the spring locators and 10* locks to go with the Beehive springs.
If I left anything out feel free to jump in.
Thanks again for the insight !!

Re: Question on springs pls..??
Good move going with the 918 springs. You will need:
I would recommend you spend a little extra $$ and get the comp cams locators for the 26918 springs. I installed these on stock locators, and the fit wasn't ideal. I wish I had ordered the locators .....
Also, send back the guideplates and get GM p/n# 14011051 guideplates. The valve spacing on the LT-1 head is a bit different than standard SBC heads, and the GM plates take this into account.
Thomas.
- 10* Comp Cams Steel retainers p/n 759-16
- 10* Comp Cams Super Locks p/n 611-16
