Guess so haha. I think my dad was in town and did this one. There ended up being a broken metal/rubber piece that pushes against the window and keeps it from wiggling in and out.

Hey old thread but seems to fit.
I got to work the other day and my drivers side window wouldn't go up. I had replaced the window motor 2 years ago and when i took it out and hooked it up to a power source it worked. I suspected the thermal cut off was the problem. The motor was working too hard to move the glass. looked at the guides and they were clean. I cleaned them out when i swapped motors and they still looked good. I then tried moving the glass by hand and noticed the problem. The door has window guides. The ones attached to the outside door panel are a rubber tube with some fabric or carpet glued on them. Mine had worn down to the rubber and i think that is the cause of the resistance. The glass just sticks too much to the rubber.
Anyone know where you can get both the window guides that are on the interior door panel and on the exterior panel?
The ones on the exterior panel are i believe weld in. Has anyone dealt with replacing these?

GM. The exterior bumpers are on the rubber strip on top of the door. It snaps on/off. I think there was a thread a while back describing replacing them.

These parts are in the parts list on my website.

The sealing strip on the outside of the door is #72.
The stabilizers on the inside are #61.

Is there any chance of "serious injury" when replacing the motor?
