R134 or freon?

R134 or freon?

guys,

does a 94 LT1 come from the factory with R134 or freon? my a/c is blowing warm and i'm thinking i might need to try a recharge with r134.

r134a is freom and yes your car uses r134a

r12 is used in alot of older vehicles

thanks..i always thought the old stuff was freon as opposed to newer r134.

Freon
A trademark used for a variety of nonflammable gaseous or liquid fluorinated hydrocarbons employed primarily as working fluids in refrigeration and air conditioning and as aerosol propellants.

R12- automotive, 1992/1993 and older
freeze 12-automotive, sub for R12, but not as cold and voids warranties
R22- household, but some have converted to R134A
R134A- automotive 1993 and newer
